Side Saddle Weekend at the Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, KY. Riders from across the country gave sidesaddle demonstrations over the weekend. One of the Georgia Ladies Aside members participated. Saturday was Hats Off Day and the crowds were big. Photos coming soon!
What’s a Derby Party without a horse? Stephanie and her horse, Romeo were invited to the Derby Party at Avalon. They came dressed for the party and had a grand time.
AKA the Kentucky Derby Parade in Louisville, Kentucky. Georgia Ladies Aside members Stephanie carried the banner and Steve took the great photos. American Sidesaddle Association members participated from all over the United States.
Angela, David, Duffie, and Stephanie all had a wonderful time at the hunter pace. We were dressed as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Mary Poppins and a 101 Dalmatian.
Sidesaddle Weekend at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. Sidesaddle riders gave sidesaddle demonstrations at the KHP. GALA member Stephanie and her horse, Romeo had a great time.
GALA members Stephanie and Tamma participated with the Cherokee County Saddle Club in the Holly Springs Christmas parade.
GALA members Duffie and Becky Yarbrough, Tamma Trump and Stephanie Hutcherson all participated in the ride. We had a blast! It was a gorgeous fall day filled with friends, horses and fund raising.
Side Saddle Weekend at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. Stephanie and her horse, Romeo performed side saddle jumping demonstrations for the Kentucky Horse Park visitors. There was also a dressage sidesaddle demo, as well as demos with gaited horses.
Four lucky girls were treated to a mini clinic at Lioncrest Farm’s summer riding camp. After watching a brief demo which included jumping, each girl got a chance to ride aside. They rode in an Owen and a Steele English pleasure saddle. All but one of them walked, trotted and cantered. Look at those smiles. They had a great day! Thanks to Romeo and Guiness for the rides.
Thank you Angus Valley Stables in Bethlehem, Georgia for inviting us to teach a clinic at your barn. First, we saddle fitted the horses. Then we had a sidesaddle chat on history, saddles and attire. From there it was out to the arena to ride aside. Beginner sidesaddle riders progressed from the walk, trot, canter and some went on to jump.There were lots of smiles and laughter. What a fun day! Stephanie and Romeo rode sidesaddle ten miles with the Cherokee County Saddle Club in the Dawson Forest on June 2, 2012. It was a great day. See you aside on the trails!
This year was the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, in Louisville, Kentucky. Georgia Ladies Aside members had an awesome Kentucky Derby Party in Atlanta, GA. Congrats to Tamma for winning the hat contest.
