Georgia Ladies Aside was founded in 2005.  We are a group of sidesaddle enthusiasts of all ages who ride aside for both pleasure and competition.  It is our goal to promote awareness of aside riding and to educate the public about the beauty, elegance and tradition that continues to live in side saddle riding.

Our members ride and show aside on many breeds of horses in hunter/jumpers, dressage, combined training, western, trail rides, hunter paces, foxhunts, pleasure riding, parades and historical costumes. We have members in Georgia and throughout the Southeast.

Georgia Ladies Aside are available for demonstrations and lectures in modern or historical attire for horse clubs, flag-bearing at shows, special events, school programs, and bicentennials or similar events. Members have participated in demonstrations in Georgia as well as the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY.

We love a parade! Georgia Ladies Aside members have participated in many parades throughout Georgia including the Chick-Fil-A Bowl Parade. Some members also rode with the Southern Ohio Ladies Aside in the 2009 Inaugural Parade in Washington, DC, and also at the Pegasus Parade, which is the parade before the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, KY.

Want to learn how to ride sidesaddle? We host sidesaddle clinics throughout the year.  Our clinics are always well attended, with riders and auditors coming from as far away as Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan and New York!  Our next sidesaddle clinic is June, 9, 2012. See our upcoming events page for more information. We also host socials. They typically include a potluck lunch, sidesaddle lectures, free brochures and handouts, raffles, demonstrations and occasional guest speakers.  These are free educational events and are always lots of fun. Ride aside!
